Fachwerkhaus in Bad Liebenzell Bad Liebenzell, in the Nagold Valley between Pforzheim and Calw, is a traditional spa and bathing city. The history of the city began with the first documented naming in the year 1091, more than 900 years ago.

Already since the 15th century, Liebenzell is praised in the bathing scripts for its healing springs. A rich bathing culture developed from this, which got into a crisis only in the middle of the 18th century. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the city fathers have decided to return to the old bathing tradition and promoted the spa and bathing industry.

Bad Liebenzell is also today strongly characterized by the spa visitors and tourism. More and more important is the role as a local relaxation area for the metropolitan Stuttgart and Böblingen area.

At the beginning of the seventies, what is today in all 6 high city districts were voluntarily incorporated in the course of the administration reform. Since 1990, Bad Liebenzell has invested in the areas of the city, the city districts and tourism in order to improve the infrastructure and cityscape. Schools, kindergartens, village centers, multi purpose and fire department buildings were built as well as the renaturation of the Lengenbach, the renovation of the old city wall and the development of the former spa garden grounds with living space for the elderly, pedestrian zones and businesses. Numerous investments are also planned for the next few years and will continue to improve the infrastructure and the appearance of the city.
