District of Böblingen

Der Landkreis Böblingen The district of Böblingen is rich in contrast: On the one hand an area with a great amount of economic dynamics and rich in high tech industries, on the other hand rural communities and beautiful landscapes with juniper moors and meadows scattered with fruit trees. The district reached from Weissach in the north to Bondorf in the south (largest north-south distance ca. 42 km) as well as from Deckenpfronn in the west to Waldenbuch in the east (largest east - west distance ca. 28 km).
The highest point is the Kühlenberg in the local authority district Oberjettingen (local authority of Jettingen) with 626 m above sea level, the lowest point with 315 m above the sea level is found where the Glems leaves the district in the north. The district of Böblingen has a surface of 618 km², is intersected by the 9th meridian and is approximately between the latitude circle 48°30' and 48°50'.
