Historic Esslingen

Esslingen am Neckar is a former Free Imperial city with a 1,200-year old history - the only city in the Stuttgart region with such a well preserved mediaeval city centre, numerous imposing churches, cloisters of open monasteries, gates, towers and fortified remains of the old city defences. Impressive: The old town hall with a fascinating Renaissance facade and delightful carillon (29 bells). 

Ludwigsburg Baroque

The former residence of the Wuerttemberg dukes and kings lies north of Stuttgart: Residence Palace ("Swabian Versailles").

Famous: the magnificent garden show "Baroque in Bloom" (gardens from different artistic eras), the porcelain manufacture, Ludwigsburg Palace Festival and the charming Baroque town center.  

Tübingen and Castle Hohenzollern

The family castle of the Prussian emperors and kings was first recorded in the 11th century. The castle was built high above the valley and gave the surrounding area its name. It became part of Prussia in 1849 and is part of Baden-Wuerttemberg today.

Over 500 years old, the city of Tübingen is famous for punting along the river Neckar, its romantic alleys and charming squares.

Punting along the Neckar against the romantic backdrop of the river waterfront is an unforgettable experience. Participants of this tour can try punting themselves under the guidance of an experienced punter. Everyone taking part will be awarded the title of "Graduate Punter" - and the best punter will even receive a prize.
