Hölderlin Tower Tübingen
The house with the Hölderlin Tower in Tübingen contains the Hölderlin Museum, a memorial and a centre for cultural encounters. On completing his studies, Friedrich Hölderlin returned to the university town of Tübingen in 1807. Following a stay in a clinic, he moved into the tower and lived there up to his death in 1843. The view of the old houses with the Hölderlin Tower bordering the R. Neckar is today one of Tübingen's best known and most frequently photographed sights.
If you'd like to look behind the charming façade, the museum provides insights into Hölderlin's years in Tübingen.
