The Kreuser’sche Apotheke is not only Stuttgart's oldest chemist's shop, it's actually the city's oldest existing business.
When the Stuttgart pharmacist Cyriakus Horn was appointed personal apothecary to Duke Ulrich on 29th September 1500, he was the only apothecary in Stuttgart, and the history of his business can be traced without a gap up to the present day, because the Horn’schen Apotheke's successor, the Kreuser’sche Apotheke, is still in existence and flourishing more than 500 years later. As well as a wide range of pharmaceutical products, you'll find countless cosmetics, food supplements, natural remedies, herbal teas, spices recommended by Hildegard von Bingen, henna and natural hair dyes, essential oils, traditionally made soaps and aromas, health literature and lots more besides.
The Kreuser’sche Apotheke is located in the Calwer Straße pedestrian zone, right next to the "Stadtmitte" S-Bahn station (exit Büchsenstraße).
