Schimmelhüttenweg
A panoramic walk through the vineyards.
Apart from the “Zacke”, there’s another way of getting from Degerloch down to Marienplatz and the town centre – slightly more strenuous, but no less rewarding: a walk through the vineyards. It’s seven minutes’ walk from the stop “Degerloch / Zacke” to Schimmelhüttenplatz. From here, idyllic Schimmelhüttenweg leads through the Degerlocher Scharrenberg vineyard, one of Württemberg’s smallest single vineyard sites. If you like, you can carry on walking right down into town. From the Degerloch stop to Marienplatz it’s 2.2 km, or 30 minutes’ walk. Just follow Schimmelhüttenweg and continue along Liststraße for another 400 metres, then go down the flight of steps called Liststaffel, which ends on Marienplatz. Here you can either board the bus again at the “Marienplatz” Citytour stop, or take the “Zacke” back up the hill to Degerloch.
