"Winnenden Pug" Wine at Weingut Häußer
The Weingut Konrad Häußer is a small, family-run wine estate in a district of Winnenden. The family cultivates 7 hectares of vineyards and is responsible for every stage of the production process, from the pruning of the vines to the harvesting and bottling. The range consists of between 30 and 35 varieties, depending on the vintage, and includes some sparkling wine specialities, home-made Trollinger mulled wine, and also - for more than 25 years now - "Winnender Mopswein" ("Winnenden Pug Wine").
Over the years, this has become increasingly popular – not only with dog lovers – and its fame has spread far beyond the bounds of Baden-Württemberg. In addition to the classic "Mops Trollinger Kabinett", the wine estate also produces the "Mops Rotwein Cuvée" a red wine matured in wooden barrels, with artist labels designed by the Winnenden sculptor Martin J.J. Kirstein. There's also a "Mops" sparkling wine made from Trollinger grapes. Why not visit the traditional estate wine bar, where you'll find a large selection of wines, from certified quality wines to the superior cuvée varieties.
