Starke Demokratie im Netz – wie schützen wir die Demokratie online?

Location:

Digital spaces offer opportunities - but also risks: Disinformation, hate and right-wing extremist strategies threaten our democratic coexistence. How do we deal with this? And who bears responsibility - politicians, platforms, civil society or all of us?

Digital spaces have long been a central component of our social interaction. But alongside new opportunities for participation, a problem that affects us all is also growing: the targeted spread of disinformation, hate and far-right propaganda on the internet. Extremist actors are using social media more and more professionally to influence moods, radicalize people and undermine democratic processes.

How do these strategies work? What structures and funding channels are behind them? And what does this mean for our democratic culture - for political education, social cohesion and for each and every one of us?

The event will therefore focus on the question of how we can shape a democratic, respectful and resilient digital coexistence - and what responsibility politics, platforms, civil society and each individual bear in this regard.
