The fascination of male choir - The Kolping Choir Stuttgart invites you to the first performance in 40 years of the Latin Mass Opus 5 by Prof. Josef Wöss, for male choir with four soloists and organ.

You don't know the "Wöss Mass"?
Of course you do! The original sheet music is locked away in the archives of the Kolping Choir Stuttgart!
Would you like to witness the first revival in 40 years?
To mark the 165th anniversary of the Kolping Family Stuttgart, the Kolping Choir has opened its archives and recorded the Latin Mass, Opus 5, "Missa in honorem S. Antonii de Padua Confessore".
Prof. Josef Venantius von Wöss (1863 -1943) composed the mass for four-part male choir, four solo voices and organ. He worked at the Votive Church in Vienna for several years. Josef V. von Wöss was an important church musician. His compositional technique can be classified as late Romantic (Wagner and Bruckner).
The Kolping Choir Stuttgart will perform the mass 4 times:
on 23.11.25, 11 am in the Domkirche Sankt Eberhard, Königstraße 9, Stuttgart
on 30.11.25, 10:30 am in the Stiftskirche Horb,
on 26.04.26, 10:00 am in the Liebfrauenkirche Stuttgart-Bad-Cannstatt,
on 17.05.26, 10:00 am in the Votivkirche Vienna - the place of origin of this wonderful work!
The Kolping Choir Stuttgart will celebrate this event with an official reception in Vienna City Hall.
Admission is free! The performances are integrated into the church services!
