Stuttgart Tram World (Straßenbahnwelt Stuttgart)

Come with us on an exciting journey through time! In a multi-faceted exhibition, covering an area of 2,500 m2, Stuttgart’s Tram World exhibition presents key points of interest in the history of trams in Stuttgart, from the very first horse-drawn tramcar, which came into operation in 1868, to the last of the trams – the classic four-axle GT4 which saw service from 1959 right up until 2007.

A series of themed areas guides visitors through this fascinating world, offering them an informative, hands-on experience. And those who visit on Sundays can get a real taste of this historic form of transport with a ride on one of the vintage trams.

This impressive collection of historic exhibits is housed, appropriately enough, in the former Bad Cannstatt tram depot, dating from 1929. This listed building combines historic exhibits with an open-plan design and many modern features – all in all, a world of discovery which will interest and entertain visitors of all ages!
