Stadtgarten an der Universität (Stuttgart Mitte)

This Way

in 850 Meter Start Route

The Stadtgarten borders directly on the university campus of the University of Stuttgart and is a popular meeting place for students.

The Stadtgarten was completed in 1870 for the first Württemberg Horticultural Exhibition in Stuttgart. There were magnificent flowerbeds, water features and a greenhouse with exotic plants. The Stadtgarten was once the most popular park in the city. From 1973 to 1975, the park, which had been largely destroyed during the Second World War and had subsequently become overgrown, was redesigned and extended by 6,000 square meters.
