The STUTTGARTER PHILHARMONIKER was founded in September 1924 and was taken over by the Baden-Württemberg state capital Stuttgart in 1976. DAN ETTINGER has been Chief Conductor of the orchestra and General Music Director of Stuttgart since fall 2015. In addition to several concert series in their home city, the Stuttgart Philharmonic regularly performs in many cities in southwest Germany and gives guest performances in Germany and abroad every year. They have been the festival orchestra for the opera festival in Heidenheim since 2013.
