These fountains are often artistically designed and serve not only as ornaments, but also as meeting points and places of recreation for the city's residents and visitors. Drinking f ountains are connected to the public water network or are supplied by a mineral water spring. From 2020, drinking fountains will be labeled with a "drinking water" sign.

Water features are fountain systems in which the fountain water is circulated by a circulation pump via a water storage chamber. This water, called process water, is not suitable for drinking.
