Afrika-Festival Stuttgart

Once a year, the black continent is just around the corner and everyone's eyes light up with color. In the middle of Heslach, Erwin-Schoettle-Platz becomes the venue for the vibrant Africa Festival every summer. The aroma of fried plantains and roasted couscous wafts over the cheerful crowd. The bells of St. Matthew's Church are accompanied by rousing rhythms such as hip-hop and highlife from Ghana, drumming from the Ivory Coast and roots reggae from Madagascar. Music and dance performances, readings, fashion shows and a large market demonstrate the diversity of African cultures.
