Delphi Arthaus Kino

It first saw the light of day in 1912 as the Union Theater on Tübinger Straße. Today, everyone knows the city's oldest cinema by the name "Delphi". With 750 seats, the movie theater became the number one cinema in Stuttgart when it opened. Unlike most inner-city cinemas, the movie theater got off lightly during bombing raids in 1944. Just one year later, the projectors were rattling again. Today, the screen mostly shows European and international independent films. The Delphi also hosts various festivals, such as the CineLatino festival, the Cinema Italia! film week, the French Film Festival and the German-Turkish film festival SiNEMA. Renowned filmmakers such as Fatih Akin and Wim Wenders have also taken a seat in the blue armchairs.
