Burgholzhof Stuttgart

This Way

in 4.9 Kilometer Start Route

Burgholzhof is no longer an insider tip among walkers: beautiful views, little traffic and the vineyards conjure up a touch of Tuscany in the Swabian metropolis. However, if you want the ultimate panoramic view of Stuttgart, you need muscle power. There is no elevator to the Burgholz Tower, only steps. Those who climb the stairs are rewarded with a fantastic view.

Until 1934, the Burgholzhof was a large agricultural estate. The Cannstatt Beautification Association had the tower built in 1891 because of the panoramic location on the ridge. The 25-metre-high Burgholz Tower was officially opened on September 19, 1891 in the presence of Crown Prince Wilhelm - later King Wilhelm II.

It is the only one of the large observation towers in the state capital to have survived the turmoil of war.
