Willy Wiedmann (1929 - 2013) spent years saving the old 16th century farmhouse from decay. In 1964, he opened the gallery (then called "Galerie am Jakobsbrunnen"). It became a pioneer in the art scene and provided a platform for a wide variety of artists, such as Ruoff, Fuchs, Dalí and Miró. The only Bible in the world to reproduce the Old and New Testaments in pictures was also created here: The "Wiedmann Bible", a1.2 km long leporello with 3,333 pictures. Today, the gallery exhibits works by Wiedmann as well as changing solo and group exhibitions by contemporary artists. It is also a meeting place for artists and art enthusiasts and a museum exhibition space for the "Wiedmann Bible".
