Do you love the smell of fresh food? Do you enjoy being inspired by exquisite delicatessen, exotic spices and international specialities? Then the Markthalle is the place for you.

Whether it's pineapple, aubergine, oyster mushroom, batata, carambola, manioc, okra, Jerusalem artichoke or salsify - if you're looking for fresh fruit and vegetables, you'll more than find what you're looking for at the Stuttgart market hall. At any time of the year, fruit and vegetable traders present a rich variety of regional and international fruit and vegetable specialities. You'll also find a wide selection of ingredients for exotic recipes. And to ensure that the meal is an all-round success, florists offer imaginative masterpieces of floristry for the appropriate table decorations. Fresh fish, poultry, game and high-quality meat and sausage products have always been a trademark of the Stuttgart market hall. Whether wild duck breast or leg of mutton, saddle of hare or the finest fillet of beef: in the market hall, the traders place particular emphasis on the freshness of their products.

The Stuttgart market hall is also architecturally impressive. It was built according to the plans of the architect Prof. Martin Elsässer and inaugurated on 1 January 1914. The Art Nouveau building with a construction of reinforced concrete girders and a hall spanned by a glass roof is now a listed building. Today, the market hall is a popular gem known far beyond the borders of Stuttgart.

Three restaurants invite you to linger: the "Markthalle Restaurant", the Mediterranean-style "Empore" and the Spanish tapas bar "Desirée". The first floor forms a charming addition with offers for upscale home decor and fashion.
