Program Johann Sebastian Bach Cantata "Who only lets the good Lord reign" BWV 93 Participants St. Eberhard Cathedral Chapel Lydia Schimmer Cathedral Conductor

The Domkapelle is one of the four vocal ensembles of St. Eberhard, the cathedral of the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese. The choir is dedicated to compositions of all stylistic periods, from ancient to modern church music.

The first service of our Bach Festival will be performed by the cathedral chapel, four vocal soloists and an instrumental ensemble under the direction of cathedral conductor Lydia Schimmer. On this Sunday in Lent, they will perform the choral cantata "Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt walten" BWV 93 - a cantata based on the song by Georg Neumark (1641), which Johann Sebastian Bach composed for the 5th Sunday after Trinity on July 9, 2024.
