#07 JSB ENSEMBLE IN G-DUR: MESSE IM KONTEXT
- Location:
- HMDK Stuttgart, Urbanstraße 25, 70182 Stuttgart
Bach's artistic path up to his mighty Mass in B minor is characterized by his Lutheran masses. These consist only of Kyrie and Gloria, with Bach adapting and refining choruses and arias from his own cantatas, which he found particularly good. "These musical gems are stylistically diverse and technically extremely demanding. I think the musicians of the JSB Ensemble will enjoy this challenge and will also be very interested to learn more about the background and the new use of the parodied cantatas," says Kathy Saltzman Romey, conductor and presenter of the first concert in the series, about the Mass in G major BWV 236. You can enjoy the fresh interpretation of our young ensemble and immerse yourself in Bach's compositional work.
