Tribute to the 350th anniversary of the death of Paul Gerhardt (1607-1676)
His verses are influential and moving: Paul Gerhardt is an exceptional poet whose poetry still accompanies, supports and comforts people today. For the renowned Windsbach Boys' Choir and the classical band Spark, he is the source of inspiration for an exciting musical collaboration that is celebrating its premiere in Stuttgart! The clear sound of the boys' choir meets the virtuosity of the quintet. This is where tradition and modernity meet, masterpieces sound in a new guise, songs become songs! Paul Gerhardt not only has a permanent place in the hymnals of many churches, he has also inspired numerous composers and continues to do so today: David Reichelt - award-winning multi-talent and at home in classical music, jazz and film music - will compose a finale for both ensembles, spanning the arc from Bach to Mendelssohn and Reger to the year 2026.
