No fish market like any other! The market criers "Aale-Dieter" (Eel-Dieter) and "Käse-Fred" (Cheese-Fred) have long had a fan base on Stuttgart's Karlsplatz. The traders offer a large portion of Nordic humour alongside bulging bags. At the centre of the Hamburg fish market, for the 35th time too, the focus is on treasures from the sea. For over three decades, people from Stuttgart and the region have been looking forward to a variety of delicacies, whether fresh from the water or cleverly prepared with crispy breadcrumbs or delicate sauces. Whether on a skewer, in a roll or on a plate - there is something for every taste.
Many visitors are regulars who gather under the chestnut trees year after year to enjoy the tantalising aromas. Some people associate more than just culinary experiences with this place - love stories have already unfolded here. Whether it was the ambience, the delicious fish sandwiches or the atmospheric music that ignited the sparks of love remains a mystery. But everyone is welcome to find out for themselves...
