ToneGallery: Albert Mangelsdorff
The band ToneGallery pays tribute to Albert Mangelsdorff and his work as a composer. Their own arrangements treat the originals with care, adding subtle touches while modernizing them with creativity and wit. A fresh perspective on the music of this exceptional trombonist, honoring his legacy while still bearing the distinctive style of ToneGallery—and all without a trombone!

Winnitzki/Hughes/Lücker play MONK! feat. Michael Moore
In the trio Winnitzki / Hughes / Lücker play MONK!, three of the most distinguished and creative musicians on Hamburg’s jazz and improv scene come together to indulge in the compositions and soundscapes of the grand master Thelonious Monk. Over the past 12 years, through intensive collaboration, the trio has developed a broad spectrum of expressive possibilities, ranging from hard straight-ahead swing to entirely free interpretations, sustained by their blind trust in one another and the inexhaustible cosmos of Monk’s oeuvre. From the very beginning, the trio has invited guests to expand the group’s sound and explore new dynamics. Among them are luminaries such as Rudi Mahall, Tobias Delius, Gabriel Coburger, and Matthias Schubert. Now, the American saxophonist and clarinetist Michael Moore—who lives in Amsterdam—has joined the ensemble. He is one of the most outstanding instrumentalists of his generation and has been named best clarinetist multiple times by Down Beat magazine. Together, they present an exciting program full of depth, spontaneity, energy, and the joy of playing.
