The focus is on her own compositions, which have been created in recent years and bear her musical signature: modern jazz meets dreamy pop music with a touch of Brazilian lightness. Floating soundscapes meet fine rhythms and plenty of room for expression.
Inspired by artists such as Gretchen Parlato and Esperanza Spalding, they create their very own musical language - carried by the joy of playing and dedication to the music.
The audience can expect an intimate, atmospheric evening between farewell and new beginnings.
Line-up: Clara de Farias (voc), Juliana Saib (p), Yoshi Tschira (git), Jan Kappes (b), David Giesel (dr)
followed by: Groove/Fusion Ensemble HMDK
EDA Q wants to make colors audible - in nuances, contrasts and lively soundscapes. The quartet's repertoire is as varied as a well-mixed palette: the musical spectrum ranges from classic jazz standards inspired by artists such as Samara Joy and Jazzmeia Horn to the shimmering, rhythmically multi-layered neo-soul sounds of Hiatus Kaiyote.
A special facet is created by Eda's exploration of her Turkish roots. Melodies and soundscapes that she heard as a child or rediscovered later are incorporated into the program in her own interpretations. In this way, EDA Q combines tradition and the present, jazz and soul, personal history and creative curiosity.
Together with pianist Cornelius Reich, bassist Benedikt Birkert and drummer Jakob Hafner, EDA Q creates a warm, dynamic band sound. Sensitive accompaniment, grooving rhythms and improvisational freedom merge into a varied concert experience - colorful, lively and full of expressiveness.
Line-up: Eda Erkol (voc); Cornelius Reich (p); Benedikt Birkert (b); Jakob Hafner (dr);
