From July 11 to 13, 2025, the Wagenhallen Stuttgart will host the Afro Joy Festival, a three-day event that focuses on culture, healing and social interaction.

Afro Joy sees itself as a platform for artistic expression, intercultural dialog and collective self-empowerment.

The festival was initiated by Black cultural practitioners and is aimed not only at the BiPoC community, but at all people who value diversity, seek new perspectives and want to actively shape a vibrant urban society.

Visitors can expect a carefully curated program that combines music, workshops, exhibitions, lectures, exchange and artistic impulses in a unique way.

Program overview

Friday, July 11 - Opening and encounter

Open Mic from the community (Safer Space), market with Black Owned Businesses, culinary delights and a musical finale to the evening

Saturday, July 12 - Empowerment Day

Workshops on yoga, dance and creative techniques, talks and panels with renowned speakers such as Yola Firmino and Suraj Mailitafi, evening stage program with live music, comedy and performance

Sunday, July 13 - Community and Care

Topics around mental and physical health, intergenerational exchange, storytelling, live music and talks with actors from culture, education and activism

Under the motto #Better Together #Spread Love and Kindness, a space is created that creates connection, makes artistic potential visible and invites people to reflect, celebrate and learn together.
