followed by an artists' get-together in the organ loft
Alma Bettencourt is 21 years old and has already perfected her organ playing to such an extent that she has just been appointed organist in residence at Radio France. But that's not all: she is also considered a great talent as a pianist, and has been since 2017, when she won first prize at the competition in Orléans. Consequently, she has recorded the two gigantic major works by Julius Reubke, the organ and piano sonatas, on her first CD. For us, the young Frenchwoman interprets Bach's weighty pair of works in E minor and, of course, French music: Dupré's virtuoso Prelude in G minor, Duruflé's subtle Veni Creator and Messiaen's visionary Communion.
