2026 Get ready, because American Football are coming to Germany for two exclusive shows in June - and with them not only their sound between emocore, math rock and shoegaze! American Football will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album in Stuttgart and Cologne.
Since 1999, American Football have been regarded as one of the most influential voices in emocore. Their music is introspective, complex and emotional - a sound for all those who move between melancholy and hope. The iconic album cover and this house front became the symbol of an entire scene. Emocore shaped a generation. And American Football were and remain a key part of this genre.
After a long break, the band returned in 2014 - with new songs and new perspectives. Their third album shows the band as atmospheric and multi-layered as never before, with features from Hayley Williams (Paramore) and Rachel Goswell (Slowdive). But in 2026 they show the complex range of their work over the last 25 years.
American Football means guitars that shimmer like memories. Lyrics that hit like a diary entry and an atmosphere that catapults the audience straight into pleasant nostalgia.
