André Herrmann

Location:
Renitenztheater, Büchsenstr. 26, 70174 Stuttgart

Following his SPIEGEL bestseller *Vacation with the Parents* (“It was nice, but not again”), which entered the SPIEGEL bestseller list directly and remained there for 19 weeks, André Herrmann is bringing his family back to the stage.

“Your dad’s already planning the next trip,” my mom explains.
“That’s what I was afraid of,” I say into the phone.
“I’d love to go to Japan!” my dad calls out from the background.

You’re supposed to quit while you’re ahead. But what do you do when your dad has a new cell phone and doesn’t realize that clicking the button labeled “Book” actually means you’re booking? And a short time later, a lot of money disappears from my parents’ account, and suddenly three plane tickets to Tokyo land in the mailbox—which, unfortunately, can’t be exchanged? Then all you can say is, “We’ll manage to get through those two weeks!” So, out of necessity, the Herrmann family sets off once again on their family vacation—only this time to the Land of the Rising Sun. Two weeks of the ultimate culture shock and a real test of Japanese hospitality. Whether Andrés’s father almost buys a 250-kilo tuna at auction or his mother suddenly vanishes while racing through Tokyo in Mario Kart, one thing is certain: When the Herrmann family shows up and tries to act completely normal, the exact opposite usually happens.

“You’d love to go on vacation with André’s parents yourself.
But every time, I’m damn glad he’s the one doing it.”
KATRIN BAUERFEIND

“André Herrmann gives you the comforting feeling that you’re
not alone in the world with the problem of having parents. I’m grateful for that.”
KLAAS HEUFER-UMLAUF
