Anselm Krisch Trio • presented by IG Jazz

The Anselm Krisch Trio plays American jazz with a special focus on grooving swing.

The repertoire includes many jazz standards, but also one or two original compositions. The pieces are arranged in the style of the great piano trios of the 50s and 60s. The trios of Oscar Peterson, Red Garland, Ahmad Jamal, Monty Alexander, Ray Brown and Christian McBride are just some of the examples.
The pianist and son of vibraphonist Dizzy Krisch, who lives in Tübingen, founded the band as part of his master's degree at the Stuttgart University of Music, which he completed with top marks in January 2014. The three young musicians have set themselves the goal of bringing an authentic sound to the stage, having fun playing together and bringing the classics of jazz to life with the freshness of today's generation.
