Migration as a crisis issue, migrants as a crisis issue—a topic of conversation at the regulars’ table—“We don’t need them—deport the knife-wielders!” and a few other things. Even here in the Sauerland region, people are concerned about potential negative perceptions of the city. That’s why we’d like to introduce you to six people who fled to Germany out of desperation and, with the help of the LBF (Local Alliance for Refugees, Plochingen), have gained a foothold here and truly settled in. You’ll hear their stories this evening—where they come from, where their roots lie, what hopes and dreams they had as children or teenagers, and where they are now, as well as what they do for a living.
You’ll hear music and poetry from their homelands. You’ll see photos. It’s meant to be an evening filled with smiles—an evening where we understand one another and grow much closer. As-Salamu ‘Aleykum—La paix soit avec toi—Myr tobi
