Cosy Crime - bird lovers take note: Four amateur ornithologists investigate their first case on Lake Chiemsee

Harald, Katja, Thilo and Sabine are birdwatchers. Or birders, as they are known in specialist circles. Every Sunday they meet at the crack of dawn on the observation tower in Grabenstätter Moos on Lake Chiemsee to pursue their hobby and get a rare feathered specimen in front of their binoculars.

This Sunday was no exception when they discovered the nest of a breeding whinchat. Only there was a less beautiful sight not far away. Frank, also an enthusiastic amateur ornithologist, lies dead in the woods. A tragic accident, say the police. But the birdwatchers don't want to know anything about it. After the longest conversation of their acquaintance so far, they agree: it was murder. And they have to solve it.

Despite some initial turbulence, they soon grow into a not bad team and even demonstrate unexpected investigative skills. Because they were absolutely right with their suspicions: the seemingly harmless Frank was a tough prosecutor who hadn't just made friends...
