AVENGERS | Iconic San Francisco punk rock around singer Penelope Houston
The year is 1977 and while the RAMONES are stirring up the underground in New York, this legendary punk rock band is formed in San Francisco around front woman Penelope Houston, who, alongside PATTI SMITH and Debbie Harry (BLONDIE), is one of the most influential female role models on the scene at the time and later launches a successful solo career in alternative folk. In the short time of their existence, the band performs as support at the very last concert that the SEX PISTOLS ever give and releases a single - Their iconic "Pink Album" was released posthumously after their break-up and contains songs produced by Steve Jones (SEX PISTOLS) such as "We Are The One" and "The American In Me", which are considered absolute classics and still delight with their fusion of concise guitar hooklines, explosive rhythms, youthful venom and great vocals. Fortunately for the "late-born", the band has been reactivated at some point and is now coming back to Stuttgart, with the original members being supported by Hector Penalosa from THE ZEROS and Luis Illades (PANSY DIVISION).
