An Alpine Symphony op. 64
Jakub Hruša is not only one of the greatest conductors of our time: the charismatic Czech is also known for opening up new perspectives on the supposedly familiar in cleverly thought-out concert programs. At his ProArte concert, we can now look forward to a real prime example of this special art: together with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, he devotes himself to Beethoven's Pastorale and Richard Strauss' Alpine Symphony - two spectacular orchestral spectacles of nature that left the boundaries of what was musically possible in their time behind them with a powerful sound. In his monumentally scored Alpine Symphony, Strauss in particular not only proves his standing as a composer, but also his genius as an orchestrator who makes the huge orchestral apparatus shimmer and shine in all colors.
