Since winning major international competitions, including the ARD Competition in Munich between 1988 and 1990, the Trio Wanderer has become one of the world's leading piano trios. It performs regularly in the most important concert halls and at many international festivals. Since 1999, the Trio Wanderer has recorded several CDs to great critical acclaim. In 2009, it was voted best chamber music ensemble at the "Victoires de la Musique" for the third time. The Trio Wanderer has produced broadcasts for various European radio and television stations, and Arte broadcast a documentary about the ensemble in 2003. The Trio Wanderer is supported by the Fondation Accenture in 48 countries.
For the Beethoven Days of the Stuttgart Philharmonic Ludwigs¬burg-Stuttgart, after Beethoven's Triple Concerto the day before, the ensemble will play two key Viennese chamber music works at the transition between the Classical and Romantic periods: the last piano trios of their respective composers.
