BirdsLAND
- Location:
- Theater Rampe, Filderstr. 47, 70180 Stuttgart
In BirdsLAND, Nadine Gerspacher and Jonathan Sánchez meet in a duet that explores the question of whether and how real joy is possible in challenging times. Inspired by swing and tap dance à la Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, a contemporary dance performance full of lightness unfolds - but which never remains on the surface.
Playful nonchalance meets dry humor, dream logic meets reality: suddenly the performers are wearing the oversized heads of a peacock and a kingfisher as if it were the most natural thing in the world. BirdsLAND opens up a space between dreaming and being awake and invites you to rediscover spontaneity, authenticity and your inner child.
The piece asks what is lost when we move away from our playful side - and which connections to ourselves and to others wither in the process. BirdsLAND is an invitation to live in the moment and to defy the gravity of everyday life with a lightness of dance.
