Bodecker & Neander - Déjà-Vu?

Location:
Nikolaus-Cusanus-Haus e.V., Törlesäckerstr. 9, 70599 Stuttgart

If music is made of silence, then silence is made of music.

Alexander Neander and Wolfram von Bodecker breathe new life into the rare art of silence and carry the artistic legacy of their master, Marcel Marceau, into a new era.

In a series of episodes, two timeless tragicomic characters find themselves in a wide variety of situations: young Antonio waits for his beloved. He waits full of anticipation and hope; he waits through all four seasons.
Themes that move people—such as patience, hope, trust, power, vanity, megalomania, and, time and again, love and happiness—are masterfully brought to life.
The two characters are—or perhaps are not—the courageous heroes of the story.
With their dazzling visual theater—full of magic, witty humor, optical illusions, emotions, and music—Bodecker & Neander elicit waves of genuine enthusiasm.
Without words and with almost no props, they send the audience into a state of vibration and resonance.
Tears of laughter and emotion are rarely so close at hand.

Bodecker & Neander are celebrating their 30th anniversary on stage this year and are looking forward to showcasing their art at the Nikolaus-Cusanus Haus for the first time.

“…wonderfully staged illusions
and a rightly enthusiastic audience…”
Süddeutsche Zeitung

“Both are artistically perfect
and seasoned virtuosos in their field.”
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

“Lighthearted and biting … grotesquely over-the-top …
rhythmic … playful … poetic … fast-paced …
wonderfully tender … funny … pure pleasure …!”

Stuttgarter Nachrichten

Cast: Alexander Neander, Wolfram v. Bodecker
Director: Lionel Ménard
