Carte Blanche#1

- Gustav-Siegle-Haus Stuttgart, Leonhardsplatz 28, 70182 Stuttgart
For the CARTE BLANCHE series, the Stuttgart Philharmonic invites guests who have distinguished themselves as soloists in the orchestra’s major concerts. We have asked them to give us and our audience a more or less spontaneous, intimate chamber music concert. We will announce the exact programs in due time.
Eldar Sapaar, cello
Eldar Sapaar is an outstanding Kazakh-German cellist and conductor. Born in Kazakhstan, he is widely regarded as one of Central Asia’s leading cellists.
“Eldar is not only a virtuoso in the spirit of the great masters of past eras, but a true musician and poet who performs with immense passion and individuality,” said the renowned artist manager Jacques Leiser.
Eldar Sapaar’s diverse interests have taken him around the world as a soloist, chamber musician, teacher, and conductor. As a cello soloist and chamber musician, he has collaborated with musical partners from all over the world. He plays a rare Nicolo Amati cello (1679), whose sound is renowned for its depth, warmth, and expressive richness—qualities that reflect his artistic personality.
Eldar Sapaar will perform Camille Saint-Saëns’s Cello Concerto No. 1 with the Stuttgart Philharmonic on October 15, 2026, in the Beethoven Hall of the Liederhalle as part of the “Sinfonische Horizonte” series.
