How does Western baroque music sound next to compositions by Korean composers of our time? The two worlds are brought together in an exciting juxtaposition by Collegium Vocale Seoul, one of Korea's leading baroque ensembles, winner of the Seoul Arts Award 2024 and prizewinner of the Japanese Takarazuka Chamber Choir Competition. The conductor Sun Ah Kim, who trained at the Düsseldorf University of Music, has led her ensemble, founded in 2007, to excellent text comprehensibility and a homogeneous sound, as can be heard on the CD Motets from Sony Classical. It is no wonder that conductors such as Masaaki Suzuki (Bach Collegium Japan) enjoy working with this ambitious ensemble.
