C!RCA - NORTH OF NOW
- Location:
- Theaterhaus, Siemensstr. 11, 70469 Stuttgart
Seven bodies, an empty stage, seventy minutes of amazement.
Directed by circus visionary Yaron Lifschitz and performed by the core members of the incomparable Circa ensemble, "North of Now" reduces the circus to its essentials: the weight of a human being resting entirely in the hands of another, and the breathless question of whether the catch will be made in time.
"In the rivers north of the future I cast the net," wrote the poet Paul Celan, describing a place beyond time.
That is where these acrobats work. The catch that has not yet taken place. The landing that only exists as a trajectory. Falling and flying become the same gesture, viewed from different angles. Seven bodies find their balance in a world that refuses to stand still, searching for transcendence in the everyday miracle of supporting each other. "North of Now" goes beyond the spectacular and strives for presence. In a time of digital inundation, it has become something truly radical when living bodies accomplish breathtaking things together.
