The gander has a heartfelt wish: he would love to raise his own chick. One day he finds a strange egg and immediately begins to hatch it. A chick hatches from the egg that looks nothing like the gander. It is very green. The other animals have also seen this and tease the green chick. Sadly, the little chick sets off in search of its 'real' father. Until it realizes that it already has a great dad who loves it, even if it looks different from him.
