The Theater in der Badewanne is showing "The Cave Child - A Stone Age Story". 30,000 years ago, the young prehistoric man Ard is separated from his clan after a natural disaster. He has to survive alone in the wilderness, light fires, find food and face dangers until he finds a new community.
Our story begins 30,000 years ago in a cave in the Pyrenees. People hunted prehistoric horses and bison and painted the cave walls with animals. The main character of the story is Ard, a boy from a clan of prehistoric humans. We experience the story through his eyes. He is separated from his clan by a natural disaster and must now cope alone in the wilderness.
How can he get food? How can he protect himself from rain, cold or wild animals? How will he find other people? And will they take him in or be hostile to him? On his search for a new home, Ard encounters mammoths and is pursued by a cave bear. Eventually he manages to make a fire and chase away wild animals at night. After overcoming all kinds of dangers and meeting strange people, he is finally taken in by a new clan.
