Arguing constructively, learning to listen, finding compromises!

Democracy Fitness is a training concept that challenges the traditional understanding of democracy. Because democracy is far more than just a form of government. We experience democracy every day: at the club, at work, at the kitchen table. Whenever people get together, create projects and make decisions together.

And you can train that! Just like you train your muscles in sport. We can practise arguing constructively, actively listening to each other and, despite differences of opinion, valuing our fellow human beings and finding compromises.

In this two-hour democracy fitness unit, participants train important skills that will help us to better master everyday democracy.

Who can take part? Anyone aged 14 and over. The training will be held in German, a good knowledge of German is a prerequisite.

The workshop is part of the supporting program for the exhibition "Protecting Democracy" by Greenpeace Germany, which can be seen from 7-18 October in the Bad Cannstatt district library.
