Dennis van Aarssen & die DVA Bigband
- Location:
- Theaterhaus, Siemensstr. 11, 70469 Stuttgart
On his upcoming dates in Germany, Dennis van Aarssen presents a live show that combines musical class and ease: swinging big band moments, intimate ballads, energetic uptempo numbers and always that special voice that immediately wins over the audience. Backed by a top-class live band, he creates an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and surprisingly contemporary.
Fans of Michael Bublé, Jamie Cullum and classic crooner sounds can look forward to an evening that is as moving as it is inspiring. Dennis van Aarssen shows how lively and versatile swing can sound today - modern, charming and irresistibly captivating.
Dennis van Aarssen inspires with his unique voice and his passion for swing and jazz. He has already released four successful studio albums, received a gold record and the Edison Jazzaward twice, completed several sold-out theater tours in the Netherlands and given his first international shows in Paris, London and New York, among others.
On November 14, his new album "Souvenirs" will be released, opening a new chapter. The album is a tribute to the great crooners - it contains eleven personal interpretations of timeless jazz classics as well as his own title track. While its predecessor "Just Call It Love" deliberately focused on intimate, reduced arrangements, "Souvenirs" presents opulent soundscapes: With 27 studio musicians, he succeeds in giving classics such as "My Way", "Can't Help Falling in Love" or "Feeling Good" a fresh yet authentic touch. Other songs such as "My Way" remain closer to the original in order to preserve their emotional depth. Dennis made the final song selection together with his fans: particularly successful viral social media videos influenced the choice of tracks.
The success on social media is impressive, where the jazz singer has become a true social media sensation with 85,000 followers on Spotify, 720,000 followers on TikTok, 306,000 followers on Instagram and over 11 million views on YouTube. Dennis van Aarssen combines tradition and modernity: with his unmistakable voice, charm and stylish stage presence, he brings the great era of crooners into the present day.
With "Souvenirs" and the accompanying tour, he once again underlines his mission: Keeping The Great Crooners Alive - and shows that swing remains alive for a young and broad audience.
