Der Kredit

Location:
Theater am Olgaeck Stuttgart, Charlottenstraße 44, 70182 Stuttgart

Jordi Galceran's comedy tells the story of a bank branch manager who refuses a desperate customer an urgently needed loan. The branch manager, who leads a carefree life with his family and job, only values material security and laughs at the customer's word of honor. In a desperate attempt to exert pressure, the customer threatens to seduce the branch manager's wife, which leads to an unexpected turn of events. The branch manager initially ignores the threat, but the situation escalates when his wife throws him out of the house because of the smallness of the loan.
As the story progresses, the balance of power between the two characters changes and the branch manager suddenly finds himself in a precarious position. Galceran's comic dialog and unexpected twists succeed in both entertaining and making us think about the power of banks and the powerlessness of customers. In the end, the question arises as to whether they can resolve their conflicts with money or clever strategies.

Jordi Galceran (*1964 in Barcelona), playwright, screenwriter and translator, devotes his comedy, which premiered in Barcelona on 13.09.2013, to the topic of money, or more precisely: the powerlessness of the customer in the face of the omnipotence of the bank, with a great deal of humor.
