This version of The Tempest was based on Shakespeare's play The Tempest from 1611, Shakespeare's last completely preserved play.
The plot tells of the fate of Prospero, Duke of Milan, and his daughter Miranda. After Prospero has left his sister to rule and devotes himself to sorcery, he is put into a boat with his three-year-old daughter Miranda and pushed out to sea by his sister and some accomplices, such as the Queen of Naples and her sister.

This is how father Prospero and daughter Miranda arrive on a mysterious island inhabited by fairies and shrouded in magic - the scene of the action - where Caliban rules, a monster and monster, son of the witch Sycorax, who was abandoned on this island because of her wickedness and has since died. Prospero subdues Caliban as his servant, as well as the air spirit Ariel, who had been hacked into a tree crevice by the witch Sycorax and now, freed by Prospero, must serve him

. One day a ship approaches the island, and Prospero recognizes in the crew the very people who had sent him into exile and devises revenge on them. He conjures up a storm and causes the ship to sink - but the crew, unaware of each other's survival, come ashore with Ariel's help and wander across the island. In this exceptional situation, people show their true faces: selfishness, self-pity, greed for power, greed and lust for drink quickly escalate to the point of madness, and the situation threatens to slip away from Prospero.
