Robert Thomas DIE ACHT FRAUEN Crime comedy with music
Oh you merry, oh you blessed, murderous Christmas time! The acclaimed crime comedy from France - on our stage at the end of the year. An evening full of suspense and charming wit, peppered with well-known vocal interludes.
A snowed-in manor house, somewhere in France. It's Christmas time. Gaby, the lady of the house, is happily awaiting the visit of her eldest daughter Susanne. Suddenly, the young maid Louise announces that Gaby's husband is lying dead in his bed, stabbed in the back! And it soon becomes clear that one of the eight women present must have committed the crime. The ladies begin to suspect each other and investigate each other under the Christmas tree. All kinds of secrets come to light.
A Christmas thriller with music! Look forward to popular French chansons and classics from the musical, soul and pop genres.
"The Eight Women" is one of the most frequently performed plays in Europe; the film of the same name won the European Film Award.
The all-female ensemble conjures up wonderfully bizarre female characters on stage that make us laugh and cringe at the same time. The production is directed by audience award winner Frank-Lorenz Engel.
