Reindeer snack on a few toadstools before fleeing the approaching cold, preceded by the group we left at the end of the first volume. On their way to the winter camp, they go on one last great hunt... Children are born, others die, the Venus of Willendorf is created. But is she really a goddess? Or was she a shaman's tool, an avatar for traveling through spirit worlds, as they are still found in myths and fairy tales today?
