Die heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe

Brecht's parable-like didactic play is a frighteningly topical description of the extent to which the lives of the general population are influenced by global speculators. It is only the good-natured Johanna Dark who rebels against the exploitation of the workers in the meat factories and the unscrupulous meat king Pierpont Mauler. However, her ideals begin to waver when the maelstrom of the capitalist system threatens to swallow her up.
