At the bottom of the Blautopf once lived a water woman with long hair. So begins a fairy tale that appeared in the Stuttgart Hutzelmännlein in 1853. It tells of a mermaid who could only have a child after she had laughed five times. This imaginative story was written by Eduard Mörike. His romantic fairy tale made the spring on the edge of the Swabian Alb a mysterious place of longing. Barbara Stoll reads on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Eduard Mörike's death.
