Their heartfelt singing and their tremendous indignation at someone who parodies this singing in his own way does not stop them, indeed, it motivates them to engage in their very own farce.
The citizens of Windsor, or rather their "Merry Wives", indulge in their fun and make "fun" of the "lecher" Falstaff in a rather crude way. Shakespeare and Ulrich Hub's adaptation present a burlesque farce of human abysses, as they can exist in one form or another at any time.
Only the love of two people can escape the intrigue and triumph in a serious way...
